First up, we took a couple of weeks over the past month to finish up Jorinda's Legendary Staff: Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest. Congratulations to him and the rest of the team for helping him obtain it. Here are some screenshots to remember the event's finish:

After we completed that we returned our focus this week to Heroic Dragon Soul. We had the chance to kill Morchok and his.... twin.... Kohcrom. (Don't get confused with their names...) Overall it was a unique encounter. We continued the night working on Yor'sahj and I'm sure we'll be seeing him on our homepage sometime soon...

Lastly, as we have undergone a Guild name change and we have, naturally, changed guild logo! If you have been paying attention to the Gallery you would have seen some of these images posted already but here is the first: It was the screenshot we took of a our Madness kill as a full guild. (Glad we could all come back and raid!)

And, as if you couldn't tell already, here is our new guild logo!

Naturally, one asks how people handle setbacks such as this. Well we can answer with an 8/8 clear in one night including our first on Madness! Great work, team! It was fun while it lasted. Now we get to move onto heroic modes.

With the release of Patch 4.3 we immediately stepped into Dragon Soul to begin our progression. Due to a series of unfortunate events, we do not have any graphical logs of killing Morchok, Warlord Zon'ozz, Yor'sahj the Unsleeping or Hagara the Stormbinder.... however rest assured; these bosses were easily sidestepped as we continued toward the Fall of Deathwing.

With this being said, we obtained a new shiny purple..... button. Ultraxion was a unique encounter that, overall, was fun for our healers. Hey; who wouldn't enjoy turning into an aspect for a short period of time?

Once we were done shifting realms we were presented with a fond memory.... loot ship. Although it was a unique encounter all of it's own we still firmly believe that Blizzard should've incorporated a new achievement:

Anyway... despite that disappointment with no follow up achievement we were still able to take out the Warmaster and move on.

And finally, before the Holidays place us on break, we were able to peel off the Spine of Deathwing. This, overall, was an epic encounter. And who didn't enjoy watching Thrall pew pew on Deathwing placing a nice hole in the giant dragon?!

We have made some strong progression on the Madness of Deathwing which have included multiple attempts that placed him in the 5% - 10% range. We'll have a kill before too long though so no worries here, folks.

Great work so far! Keep it up and we'll look forward to the hardmodes.

]]> Firelands: Complete! - Next Up: Heroic Firelands! Sat, 01 Oct 2011 11:21:00 -0400 http://www.for-science.net/home/article/377108/m/1754293 http://www.for-science.net/home/article/377108/m/1754293 Well, folks, it only took a couple of weeks but we finally managed to clear up Firelands on normal mode. While we were setback because it was a post-nerf clear, we were still excited as we killed Ragnaros.... or at least made him run away for now. Congratulations to the entire Team and much appreciation goes out to the dedication of the Team. We would also like to say "Thank you." to those people outside of our Team who also contributed to these fine kills. If you helped, you know who you are.

Starting with last week's kills we were able to clip the wings of Alysrazor and we lol-1-shot Majordomo on our very first pull.

With the surprisingly (and somewhat disappointing) easy kill on Majordomo we pushed on with much anticipation to Ragnaros. Killing him (again) proved harder than his former self back in the Molten Core days. However when we finally conquered him it was a roar of excitement with the Team as it was long 4 days of raiding of working him down. Again, Congratulations Team and great work. Here's to pushing Heroic Modes!

On a final note, we are also pleased to announce that our infamous Warlock, Jorinda, has started the epic quest by obtaining his Branch of Nordrassil. Throughout our progression it was nice to take a break and enjoy a different encounter presented in Firelands.

Healers dancing.... DPS dancing... and a single tank left to his own. Never-the-less, Baleroc died and we got a screenshot of him.... oh wait....

In other news... We decided about five weeks ago to start farming Icecrown Citadel (25 Player) for mounts and the Light of Dawn title before they [possibly] remove said mount from the game. Tonight our PUG group learned very quickly and a we ended with a kill after six or seven pulls. Fun times for all. Congratulations to those Death Praised members and others who received their titles and mounts.

Earlier this week we celebrated our first kill on Beth'tilac. Too bad she didn't drop anything useful for us, however. We are now moving on toward Alysrazor and Baleroc. Most likely. . . very soon. . . Baleroc will be slain! We got him down to 13% on our very first night of our encounter with the fire brute.

]]> Continuing In Firelands.... Rhyolith! I mean, really, how often do you get to drive a huge elemental by slashing his ankles? We got to visit Rhyolith for the first time Monday evening and spent about an hour and a half or so getting used to the mechanics, balancing out DPS, and trying different raid make-ups. We had a general idea of what would work by the night's end.

And then came Wednesday night. We had a couple of guests with us and we told them that Rhyolith was a progression boss and we haven't put much work into him yet. Well, that didn't seem to matter as, after the brief explanation, we pulled this giant and slayed him in one shot. Yup. The very first pull this guy went down faster than a fat lady falling for some McDonald's french fries. Excellent, precise, and a clean execution, Death Praised. Keep up the great work!

We came back and worked toward a new boss in Firelands; Shannox. It took one night's worth of work, some help from a couple of pugs, and even a swift boot up an ass or two.... but we killed him! Woot! We'll continue onto the other bosses; Shannox was just the beginning. Congratulations on the kill, Death Praised! Let's keep it up!

(For some reason Photoshop just never got reinstalled.) -- Anyway.... let's catch up on what's been happening!

First up, Death Praised did catch up on the Cataclysm Raids and obtained our Glory of the Cataclysm Raider. Unfortunately it was after the 4.2 nerf but never-the-less, we enjoy our titles and our mounts! Congratulations!

We did not get a guild screenshot when we downed Nef however we did capture one when Al'Akir did his vanishing act once we killed him.

With Cataclysm Tier 11 out of the picture (for now.... we will come back to you Heroic Nef!) we have started to move on into Tier 12.... and the Firelands! We're still looking for another guild MT and our team is steadily getting used to each other. We hope to be caught up and in the competitive lead on our realm by the end of this tier. Here's to our goals!

We had some minor setbacks even in our first week (such as the previously mentioned struggles on Wednesday night) as well as another member of our team quitting... however that didn't stop us. We waited for the right time this Saturday evening, came together, and within four or five attempts Cho'gall was dead! Here's our shiny new achievement!

Not bad folks, not bad at all. We're not stopping here, however. Al'akir is next on our hit list as we'll be taking him on this Monday. Finally, what would an achievement kill be without its very own kill screenshot! Here is the team, folks, standing over our latest victim!

]]> Back In The Saddle Again - And Away We Go! Wed, 01 Jun 2011 01:35:00 -0400 http://www.for-science.net/home/article/256891/m/1754293 http://www.for-science.net/home/article/256891/m/1754293 Well folks, after nearly 10 weeks of not raiding due to various reasons Death Praised has once again come up from the bottom to put together a team that has its eyes set on end-game content and progression. Tonight was our first night raiding as a team and we started our week right clearing 8/12.

There were some interesting moments to start our raiding such as our Holy Priest literally disappearing without a trace... oh and nobody will ever forget (because he'll never let us) Shamtastic solo healing the last 30% of Valiona and Theralion... and the general nonsense of a rogue's behavior.

In any event it was a great night for Death Praised to start raiding again. Tomorrow we will continue our efforts to finish up the Bastion of Twilight with beheading Cho'gall and then taking on Al'Akir. Once we're successful then our eyes will be honed in on Nefarian!

Motivation for what, you ask? To be the absolute best guild on Fenris when it comes to Firelands raiding. Why? Well check this mount out provided by MMO-Champion today from their datamining. It appears that this mount will be the reward of Glory of the Firelands Raider!

I don't know about this rest of you but this mount seems to be the best looking mount in game so far. Feel free to post your thoughts and opinions. In either event: I want one!
